One of our larger value projects, this £430k cantilevered canopy refurbishment was undertaken at a popular Central Scotland retail park.
The works were commissioned by the Retail Park owner to upgrade the dilapidated bolted glass canopy coverage to the front elevation customer facing sides of the units. A prerequisite of the project was that the upgrading works should not inhibit the day-to-day trading of the retail park tenants.
The works extended to removal and recycling of existing glass canopy panels, mechanical preparation and redecoration of structural steelwork elements and installation of new toughened laminate bolted glass panels.
Working on the structures of this scale required the use of large access plant and lifting machinery. Working together with our specialist glass subcontracting partner, the project was delivered through a combination of normal and out of hours working in conjunction with careful phasing, to deliver a practical and aesthetic improvement to the Retail Park as a whole.
