£300K project for government agency across four locations on the Scottish mainland and islands to create motorcycle testing tracks.
This project required working and liaising with two separate government agencies simultaneously: tenant and landowner. The works had to conform to strict European Union standards which required the laying of high grade tarmacadam and demarcation lining to specific micrometre thickness. All the works had to be undertaken whilst still allowing the vehicle inspectorate site operation to operate normally on a daily basis. The works had to be kept to a tight programme with works at one site being completed prior to the start date of the next. Due to the nature of this particular project there was a specific requirement to manage specialist subcontractors ensure their element of the project was brought in on time, to programme, and on budget.
Groundworks: Hardstanding extensions · Concrete kerb installation · Drainage alterations and repairs
Decoration: Application of temporary demarcation lining · Application of specialist non slip line marking paint to tight tolerances both in thickness of application and setting out to meet European and National requirements
Subcontractor: Thermoplastic lining removal with specialist water jetting equipment · Plane out existing tarmacadam and laying of new race track grade tarmacadam
